Ms. Sharon Golub

Sharon Golub has been teaching music at P.S. 11 for 24 years. Previous to that she taught piano privately, with students ranging in age from 4 years to adult.

Ms. Golub is the former Chair of The New York City Music Teachers Association/UFT. She is also the former Chair of the Music Educators' Association of NYC Workshop and Professional Development Committee. (MEANYC) where she planned and coordinated professional development workshops for NYC music teachers. She was also the MEANYC Social Media Chair.

Ms. Golub has toured extensively with many bands and has played with members of the Tough Darts, Dino Dinelli and Gene Cornish of the Young Rascals, and worked with singer/songwriter Ronnie Gent.
A song from that CD, called "No Place Like Home" recently aired on television on an Owens Corning commercial.

Ms. Golub brings to her position her expertise and research on a music curriculum integrating technology and its effects on student achievement, motivation, and self-esteem.

In August of 2005 Ms. Golub had the pleasure of bringing the Music and the Brain Program that she teaches at PS 11, to Israel. She trained teachers at Achuzat Sarah, a home for children in Bnei-Brak. After visiting the home in 2004, she wanted the children there to have the chance to enjoy the advantages that the program offers. It was a wonderful experience for all involved.
